United for gender equality at the Feminist Festival!
On June 23, 24 - 2023 SEEDS took part in FEMALE’s Feminist Festival in Beirut’s Hippodrome. The event marked a decade of FEMALE’S efforts advancing feminist ideals and fostering gender equality.
A plethora of civil society organizations as well as non-governmental entities, all committed to empowering women at various levels, participated in the festival exhibiting the work they do in order to provide the needed support for women's progress.
The event showcased a diverse array of booths and stands representing each organization's identity, portfolio, and ongoing projects aimed at achieving gender equality and addressing the injustices faced by women.
SEEDS had the opportunity to engage with numerous visitors, offering brief informative sessions about the projects and activities undertaken to support women and other marginalized and vulnerable groups.
Furthermore, we had the chance to meet with groups of women coming from remote and rural areas driven by a shared desire to bring positive change to their communities. Likewise, we engaged with newly established associations eager to activate their efforts in aiding women in their immediate surroundings.
The festival served as a valuable platform for women from different backgrounds, fields of work and from different geographical areas to come together in a safe space and be able to exchange stories, challenges, hopes and a shared determination to collaborate for the advancement of gender rights.
