As we strongly believe in the universal declaration of human rights, in the Lebanese constitution, and in our eagerness in defending human rights as civic society, activists, legal and communications experts, and due to the various humanitarian causes and its ramifications, we hereby promise to interpret, protect and defend these rights.
In this context SEEDS for Legal Initiatives worked on a research paper discussing the problematic of sexual orientations changing efforts SOCE from homosexual to heterosexual, efforts that are still being practiced in Lebanon. The research covers both the scientific and the legal aspects of these practices, an approach based on modern and up-to-date studies.
This paper sheds light on medical references and how homosexuality and its adopted treatment are viewed and judged based on science and recent studies. It also focuses on laws refuting the hypothesis of sexual orientations changing efforts, treatments or correction.
